These are hunting tools you will need to survive the Great Tribulation as discussed on the Hunting and Trapping page.
You’ll also need them to protect yourself against some animals.
And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth. Rev 6:8 (KJV)
Prior to the Tribulation, animals were showing signs of losing their fear of man. Bear, mountain lion, shark and elephant attacks escalated drastically, as did those people that buy chimpanzees and tigers suddenly found pets attacking them. One woman witnessed her pet chimpanzee attack her, kill her best friend, and begin to rip open the locked door of a police car before the officer shot the pet.
These stories have always happened – but showed a remarkable increase before the Tribulation. They’ll be escalating much higher now. Food and water will be scarcer now, and animals will begin attacking people for food.
For hunting, it’s really hard to beat a .22. Well, you can get something bigger, but a 7.62 cartridge like an AK-47’s bullet is a little hard on whatever you’re trying to eat.
Besides, with the cost of ammunition, the .22 is pretty much the cheapest ammo out there.
When it comes to rifles, please remember – you cannot recall a bullet. And also keep this in mind – guns tend to be loud. If you’ve ever been to a shooting range, you’ll notice that everyone is wearing big earmuff looking ear protection. There’s a reason. And if the Armies of the Antichrist are looking for anyone who refuses to take the mark, shooting a rifle is a lousy way to keep hidden.
Hunting Bows and Cross Bows represent a much more stealthy way to obtain food – but more difficult to aim and use. Also keep in mind that the arrow is slower, and you run a real chance of missing your first few shots just because the animal bolted just after you let the arrow fly.
Really, your best bet for getting food is traps and snares. Remember what’s discussed elsewhere – diversify! Survival is about bettering your odds. Use your stored food when it’s impossible to hunt, snare or trap.
You should be setting up traps, snares, fishing lines, and bow or spear hunting. the more you diversify, the better your odds of survival. Remember, those stored up chocolate bars could be dessert… or they could be the thing you need after a day of no food and need to keep your energy levels up.
Remember when bow hunting, gravity eventually takes control of the arrow. The arrow will fall eventually to the ground. Once on the ground, the arrow has little hope of hitting the target.
Spears – spears do well when you need something to hunt with, and can get closer to your prey. They’re also handy for fishing with – it just takes patience and fish.
I’ll be updating these pages as I go along – stay tuned for more info…
